THE 1921 HOUSE

Our century-old teak mansion, once home to the British consulate and its elegant dinner parties, remains a splendid setting for leisurely dining. Join us for a light salad and prawn cocktail for lunch, an indulgent afternoon tea on the Verandah, aperitifs in the sultry Brit Bar, and exquisite treasures from land and sea at our contemporary steakhouse The Service.

The Service

Brought to you by Chef David Eldridge.
The menu: bone marrow, oysters and foie gras to whet the appetite, followed by only the finest steaks imported from Japan and Argentina then dry aged in house. The setting: the magnificent upper storey of The 1921 House, steeped in history and refinement, with river views and breezes enjoyed out on the wrap-around teak balcony. Please note that a smart-casual dress code applies: we ask you to refrain from wearing shorts or sandals.

Where the elite rendezvous.
With a solid oak bar, leather upholstered armchairs and vintage prints adorning the walls, to enter Brit Bar is to be transported back in time, when life was a leisurely and refined affair.
Sip on original cocktail creations inspired by the world’s favourite eras, from the roaring 20s to the retro 60s, paired perhaps with a cheese and charcuterie board, imported oysters, Scoth egg or pulled pork sliders.

The ground floor of our century-old teak mansion enjoys cool breezes from the river during the day. Linger there, tasting your way through a light lunch followed by our famous afternoon tea.
Chef favourites include the burrata, steak, egg and chips, the baby back ribs and always classic sticky toffee pudding.
